Everyone has that gut feeling about the good and bad things in life that are controllable and some that are not. This week, I had that gut feeling and it was amazing. Turning 23, I was worried what to expect when I went on a job interview in Texas. Well little did I know that I was going to be picked up in style which was a LIMO , MY OWN ROOM, HAVING THEM PAY FOR MY FLIGHT TICKET, FREE BREAKFAST VOUCHERS . DID I TELL YOU ALL WAS FREEEEEE!?
GUESS WHAT... It was all amazing experience, one of the best birthdays I could ask for actually... Birthdays are not what they use to be.. its not about what festivities are planned for your night with your friends, its about enjoying life and who's around you. I enjoyed making new connections on my interviews the last couple of days and thinking about my future. Heres to being 23, becoming a successful college student ( only for 5 more days ) and learning that it's not about how many people show up to your birthday party but the ones that are sharing the moment with you and showing you a beautiful and successful path to your carrier in the near future.
Heres to being 23 and heres to enjoying every minute of my life I'm building for myself.

Stress Friday
You may ask yourself why I posted a picture of Walmart on my blog this week. The reason why I did is because this is one of my favorite things I started doing in college, the reason being;
1. It's the craziest time of the season and I get crazy competitive.
2. You don't get great deals like this another time else while shopping.
3. Family bonding time... well at least for my household it is.
4. For a college student, take this opportunity to shop your hearts out. If you look under my Christmas tree, half of my presents are from break friday.
5. In your 20's you're the most competitive... well at least I am, sometimes you have to do what it takes to get through the crazy lines ,
6. It's always fun and games until theirs something that is a MUST have item that everyone is wanting in their christmas stocking that year.
7. Walking out the convent store and noticing you bought the best purchases with the best price makes you realize you're the real MVP this year.
So pretty much what I'm summing up is to experience a Black Friday. It maybe sad in your wallet is tight for the holiday season but Its well worth the memories in my eye.

International Festival
Last week November 13th, I was able to
experience an International Festival, which was held in the ballroom at the
Nigh University Center. The festival was
free to all UCO students, faculty, staff and the community.
I can honestly say I was a little overwhelmed at
first due my claustrophobic and the sever body order I smelled in front of me
when I jumped in a life for food sampling, but besides the uncontrollable
situation that I could not change from my experience walking in the door, I
enjoyed myself.
Complete cultural shock when I walked into the
ballrooms. While waiting inline, I just thought to myself how amazing it was to
experience several different cultural in one day.
Free food? A college students favorites words to
hear. It’s not my fault that I’m a picky eater right? I confess, I did not try
each item that was given at the festival but the items that I did try were
absolutely amazing. I went with one of my friends to the festival and we
actually had a great time experiencing how these students around our age show
what they truly have a passion for. It made me think twice on my passions and
dreams.
It's a cultural shock, you can say with
the different variety of food to select from. I may be a picky eater but when I
see things that interest me or looks delicious, I can't help myself with trying
knew things. I think the international experience is a great experience to
have, especially if you’re like me and you are a broke college student that can’t
fly around the world to experience all the different types that are offered
around the country.
This experience gave students a feel of the different
perspective that they may not have received if they went to different schools.
I also believe that this experience gives
students in different cultures a experience to show off their country and to
explain why they have a passion to cook or their love back home.
I’m not exactly sure what country or culture I enjoyed the most but
everyone did a great job. I loved the fact that everyone dressed the part of
their culture they represented. If you didn't have a chance to go
this year, I highly suggest you make time to go next year!

Lets vent....
You know what I hate the most....
When people forget about Thanksgiving each year and start getting ready for Christmas. Yes, both days are very special to my heart and no, I'm not trying to act like a Mr. Scrooge but lets not forget Thanksgiving.
When people forget about Thanksgiving each year and start getting ready for Christmas. Yes, both days are very special to my heart and no, I'm not trying to act like a Mr. Scrooge but lets not forget Thanksgiving.
- The number one rule to myself is NEVER start listening to Christmas music until Thanksgiving.
- NEVER start decorating or lighting up the Christmas tree until Thanksgiving evening.
- Always have fun at holiday parties and Never forget the true reason why we share these two holidays with our loved ones.
There's my rant, get excited....Thanksgiving is only a week away! Gobble Gobble

To the Tinder loving girls out there
Ladies,
I'll gladly be one of the first or if not many to say Tinder is not the site to find your next boyfriend on. Prove me wrong but too many girls in College believe that you can find your dream man on social media these days. I would like to compare this too a girl trying to find her soul mate around campus corner at the local bar after the guys pre gaming of course.
Meet a guy at school or work, don't get Catfished. Be strong ladies. Don't download Tinder.
Tinder moments that my friends have received on Tinder:
Tinder guy- You want to come hangout in my hotel room for a little bit?
Anna- Its 2pm..
Tinder guy- And your point is...

To the future intern,
While you figure out what you like and dislike in a job you’re
interested in, here are a few things that each intern needs to know before
entering his/her first day.
Be on time-
Nothing is more frustrating to a manger more than being late. You’re a grown up
now, start using your alarm clock that your mom bought you as a gift for Christmas
hinting that you can’t sleep through class
once again.
Dress like the week
day, not the weekend- I hope every girl takes away something from this tip,
don’t dress like your about to go to a club. Always wear a black blazer and
skirt that pass your middle finger if you’re standing hands by your side.
Be nice to the
assistant- Be nice to the assistant of the company, since she is the closes
to the director/ CEO of the company, depending where you work at. While waiting
for you interview, brush up on your resume to show that you serious about the
job and KEEP YOUR PHONE IN YOUR BAG.
Being a perfectionist-
I struggle with being a perfectionist on every assignment. ITS OKAY to not
know the answer to everything your first month or two in the job, ask
questions, that’s how you learn and grow. I learned that asking questions show
that you care about the job and you want to make your work the best it can.
Jot down every note- Evan if you have the best memory in the world,
you can’t remember everything, take notes. Notes will be your best friend.
Take every task you’re
given- I think this one is very important, I LOVE to learn new things on
the daily so taking every task your manager gives you and going the extra mile
shows how dedicated you were in the internship which your manager can refer you
to a different company that’s hiring after your internship is over.
The best thing about being an intern is that your manager doesn’t
expect you to know everything your first couple of weeks being in the company.
I love having managers ask me my opinion in a meeting; they truly do make a
difference on where you might end up after you graduate.
-Your's truly,
the intern
-Your's truly,
the intern

The new social spot in town
Okay ladies and gents, here is a new hot spot for a fun social atmosphere that Oklahoma has to offer now. Downtown, OKC just opened a daily food truck called Bleu Garden which is located at 301 NW 10th St, Oklahoma City, OK.
Bleu Garden is a 21
year and older bar that features entertainment and up to six different trucks
per night can park at the restaurant.
I went the first week
it was open, I loved how their were walls but no roof so I can enjoy the nice
weather and watch TV while sipping on an adult beverage that night with my
friends. It’s a nice yet relaxing hangout to go with your friends. Bleu Garden
has a capacity of 600 in the bar at one night. So bring everyone you know and
see what I’m talking about. One of my favorite places hands down!

When In Doubt
College can be the most stressful but rewarding times in one students life. Sometimes you have to shake off your stress, catch up on your favorite magazine and just celebrate your birthday like it's your last.
Shake it off - Its easier said than done but going through a bad break up, test or a bad hair day, you just need to shake it off.
Laugh out loud because you know all the TSM blogs are true- either it's a book, blog or Tv show, you just need something you can relate too so you can get a good laugh in once in a while.

Celebrate your birthday for a whole month - Celebrate your birthday like it's your 21st, you won't be celebrating too much longer is my thought process. It's not neirly as fun turning a year older after 30.

"Good writing creates good blogs"
Last week, I listened to Dr. Hochenauer speak to our class about how blogging changed
his life and how “Good writing creates a good blogs”. Dr. Hochenaur, explained to the class that when
writing a post, you want to make it inspirational and consider the issue and find what other people
aren’t writing about.
When
writing a blog, worry about writing certain blogs that are already written
about
because you want something original. After hearing him say that in my
opinion. I realize that I needed
to
follow more blogs. Figure out your audience and tell the story accordingly is
just one step too engaging
your audience in a blog. I need to get familiarize
with other bloggers work and notice If there’s a
similarity to a post made from
a different blogger.
My
blog is something special to me where I am able to write my experiences and
what
I learned from being in my 20’s. My goal when I started my blog is the hope that my experiences
can relate to other bloggers out there. It’s was also nice to hear his experience with getting writers
block time to time which I can relate too. Writers block happens to any good writer and it’s okay
to give your eyes a

Taking on your 20's
Looking back since my Freshman & Sophomore year in College , there's a lot that I wish I could go back to repeat or change. Turning 21 is one of the greatest moments when turning into a young adult. When you turn 21, you learn that house parties weren't as great as you thought when you were younger . Considering myself as a young adult, I would say that I have been exploring Bricktown and OKC when I want to try a different scenery. Don't know what to do in Oklahoma on a weekend? Heres some great places that you MUST try out if your 21 or older!
- Candy's
- Pink Cadillac
- Backers Street
- Ednas and then head to Speak Easy
- Dollhouse
Uber is the best taxi cab service to use if you were drinking or don't want to drive yourself somewhere, in my opinion. Its cheep, download the app on your phone !

Be my glue
When I think of the definintion of friendship, I think of a life full of memories , friends that will be there no matter what and friendship that last more then four years.
Friends come and go throughout the years , I still remember discussing with my best friends in High School how nothing will change, evan if we're miles away. Well... keeping in touch doesn't always work out in College. College is the same if you think about it. Since Freshman year of College, I still talk to probably 5 of the 100 friends. Since I'm still in college, I keep in touch with many of my friends but It's no shocker to myself that I won't keep in touch with most of them after this semester. Its a sad but true. I learned a few things in College, the best advise I received in College are:
- Not everybody stays in touch with their best friends from High School , besides Blair and Salena off of Gossip Girl of course. In real life, most friendships end like Brooke and Peyton on One Tree Hill. Theres a time in you're life that everyone figures out who they are and take different paths in their lives to achieve what's important to them.
- Its better to have 5 true and best friends rather then having 50. I came to college thinking I need to have a billion of friends to survive college but I noticed having a few that you truly care about is better I learned.
- If you have big dreams, College is the time to make it happen, don't loose your dreams because your friend try to knock you down. Obviously their not true to your friendship if they're trying to stop you from following your dreams.
- Friendship should be like Glue, find the ones who can stick (=
She's my Glue.

How being Gluten Free really isn't that bad...
Lets be real... who likes to be told that you can't eat certain things which you consume on a daily basis? Well, thats what I was told four months ago at my doctor visit during the summer. If you ask me what my favorite meal is the first thing that would come out of my mouth would be pizza and pasta. As a 22 year old college student, I thought my life was over ( being dramatic of course ). I researched a lot about gluten free items after I found out I had Celiec disease and noticed that certain grocery stores and restaurant have a whole section of Gluten Free items.
Some choose to eat this way while others, like myself have too. I do have to agree with my doctor on one thing, I feel a whole lot better , healthier and a wake through out the day since a few months ago. Being Gluten Free does not mean you have to cut everything out of your life I found out. I still can eat pizza and pasta but a more safer and healthier way.
It took me awhile to realize what were gluten free and restaurants in the OKC area that do have a gluten free menu but here are a few place's I enjoy to eat that work with your food allergy:
- Mcallister Deli- can change out the bread and have any sandwich!
- Hideaway- best pizza ever!
- Teds- tortillas, chips, cheese are my favorite
- Bj's- great pizza , selected gluten free alcoholic beverages!
- Red Robbin- they have glutten free bread and fries!
- Chick Fil A- fries are gluten free and I usually eat a sandwich without the bun
- Raising Canes - ( call ahead so they can start the chicken fingers!
- Dave and Busters - the seafood is amazing! Little selection though
Hopes this helps someone! Still trying to figure out what alcohol doesn't have gluten in it so I'll keep you posted!

Who's next?
I take it a bit competitively some at weddings , but the real question isn't who the lucky man is but what all I want to do before I settle down.
Here's something's I want to do before I settle down with someone:
--go out with my friends on weekends without worrying about being home at a certain time
- start my carrier
- find a location where I want to start my life in
- travel
And the list goes on

Life as a Senior
14 weeks from now, I’ll be walking across stage to receive my diploma. It’s a scary but exciting time in my life
where I leave my college life behind but memories with me. After reading up on
some articles online, something hit me, I never thought about making a bucket
list for my senior year of college. Crazy right!?!
3. Go on a road trip- Being spontaneous with my sorority sisters and remembering those crazy memories I made that weekend!
I think creating a bucket list will give me
closure by the day I say goodbye to some of my favorite professors and friends
from Central.
This is what I have down so far…..
1. Pulling an All-nighter- Staying up all
night with a few of my best friends… just because.
2. Be there for my little sister - My little
sister is experiencing her first semester of college so I want to show her
where to get free parking or buy your books to get the best deal. Just being a
great older sister!
3. Go on a road trip- Being spontaneous with my sorority sisters and remembering those crazy memories I made that weekend!
4. Be a great alum to my sorority sisters- I may
not be an active member in my sorority anymore, but I want to always be
there for my sisters when they need me.
5. Apply for my dream internship- Everyone has
that dream job in life and I decided to search for it and apply!
6. Take as many photos as I can for my senior
year-Capture every memory right?
My bucket list will show the great experiences I
made in college .. Can't wait to see how much I can get accomplish until
graduation day!
